Sacrifices Moms Make in Their Life to Get a Professional Life Back
In this second episode we both shared our story.
My story: this story begins in 2009.
In April 2009, my husband and I got married in our town, Rotterdam and we had our big wedding party in July in my husbands local area in Turkey.
At that time I was working full-time as an Finance-Clerk. I worked there for 8 years and in that time, 2008 the financial crisis happened. The Head-Office, based in Manhatten N.Y had more focus on our Finance department. My supervisor told I could get an extra education. Me, newlywed and almost pregnant wanted to be a mom more than a career woman. After maternity leave, I started working part-time and my interest in work was decreasing. When I was pregnant for the second time, I got called in to the manager's office and he told me without saying “you are fired” I didn't not have to come back any more after maternity leave.
Ok.. I wasn't happy but I also was glad I could stay home with my kids.
Our family had a good time….. till my husband got fired from a good paying job.
We spend all our savings within a year of his unemployment.
My search began for a job that I could do from home but could find a good fit for me. Then I started looking online and I found an advertisement “starting your own home based business with less start-up costs” that sounded interesting and I had made an appointment. After the hotel-meeting with this guy, I did some thinking and I couldn't find a reason not to do it. So, I started in Network Marketing.
The company provided training and my sponsor helped me to have my first 2 home-parties. I was motivated and had success, I ranked up within my first 3 months. Also I went to the Company World Event in London. I was on fire and I could scream….and I did.
The next month I had another great news, I was expecting our 3rd child. We were very happy. Then a SACRIFICE came along. For babies health sake I had to slow down and could do any more with the MLM Company.
Well, the Company didn't care if I was active or not. It is my business and if I don't work on MY business, it's fine by them.
Fast forward to the now…
Since I am working to build my business online, I've learned how I can transfer my offline MLM business into ONLINE. As you can see… I now do so much more than just my mlm business.
What sacrifices a mom have to make
- 3 . Stop working full-time
- 2. stop socializing with friends
- 1. give up her woman like feeling, her body
This was the first Belive together we had.
We did our best but still we encountered some technical problems… well that things happens sometimes.
Shumaila has 3 boys in the age of 8, 4 and 3 years.
There are very naughty and she says she is the only one that can handle them.
The two oldest go to different schools but luckily there is a school bus system so she doesn't have to worry about that.
My kids are almost 7, 5 and 2,5 years old.
The love to play together. We have our two oldest sleeping in one room together. That is sometimes…or to be honest..it is most of the time a struggle.
They don't want to sleep or the other one is making noise so the he can't sleep. One want to have the door closed and YES you can guess, the girl want the door open.
In this video we talked about the bedtime ritual.
The funny thing is… Shumaila is originally from Pakistan and now lives in Virginia, U.S. and we live in The Netherlands, I am Dutch and my husband is Turkish. Our man have kinda like the same culture but still there are differences.
One big difference is that Shumaila takes her kids to bed all by herself, she has a good consistent ROUTINE and her kids almost always sleep instantly.
My husband and I bring our kids together to bed, it takes more time, maybe I have to think about that. wink wink.
